OUR CULTURE:
The MNPD is the 24th largest police department in the U.S., and has the capacity of about 1500 full-time sworn members. The department responds to more than one million police calls per year. The MNPD is decentralized, meaning its division commanders and precinct commanders control their own resources to address issues and crime trends in their areas. The department is divided into eight precincts: North, South, East, West, Central, Hermitage, Madison, and Midtown Hills. The precincts are supported by Administrative services, Investigative Services, and Special Operations Division personnel, all in an effort to deter, detect, prevent, and respond to crime trends
The great city of Nashville is continuing to grow exponentially and the MNPD is constantly looking for the right qualified and diverse individuals to join our team. There are five characteristics that we value in our officers: Being a good communicator, a critical thinker, having empathy, integrity, and being a good problem solver. We need people who have a high level of personal integrity and are committed to serving the public, protecting the vulnerable. MNPD is an equal opportunity employer.
