the Weekly Wrap-Up will be made available to members and non-members.

We are here for you and in this together.

CEO Brief

I hope you had a great Thanksgiving holiday and are healthy. What is it about the week after a break that makes them so rough, then add the COVID news on top of that, and its end of the year? What a week, I hope you got caught up, I am still trying to.

You all know COVID is ravaging our country. The newest number is someone is dying every 30 seconds from COVID-19 and that is only expected to climb. Locally we are seeing hospitals nearing capacity and National Guard was activated today to help man them. Please, wear your mask and try to limit the spread by staying away from others.

This is hard and I know so many are tired of it, count me in that. But we have to stay vigilant and do our part. Lauren was supposed to be getting married this weekend but they postponed the wedding until it is safe and responsible. We all send Lauren and Danielle much love this weekend and look forward to celebrating them in 2021! We will get through this, this too shall pass.

Speaking of celebrating, we will be doing that next week virtually for our Annual Meeting and Holiday Party. We NEED YOU to attend! As members, it is YOUR responsibility to vote on the slate of new board members and to hear the annual report from our President on what we accomplished this year. It actually was quite a bit! Join us Thursday for a really good time and to network and connect. Details below.

Last week I was honored to have been named a “40 Under 40 of Chamber Professionals” nationally by the ACCE. I would like to thank Ron and Lauren for submitting my name for nomination, and to the board and the members for allowing me to serve. I am truly grateful and appreciative to represent this organization and do this work. You can read more below.

I hope to see you next week. We are here for anything you need.

Coronavirus Response

Momentum is building in support of a bipartisan compromise COVID-19 relief package before Congress adjourns for the end of the year. Legislation could be finalized as early as this weekend.

COVID-19 update: Another record number of deaths reported
Lee authorizes National Guard in hospitals, deregulates scope of practice

We were honored to sponsor and attend Nashville Business Journal's Expand Conversations yesterday. Panelists included James Gingrich of our member AllianceBernstein and Kimberly Stephan Tate of our member Asurion. The breakout sessions were diverse and informative. Several of our members, board, and staff attended. We will keep you connected to future dates for this program.

Congratulations to Joe for being named to the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executive's 40 Under 40 list!

This annual recognition program showcases 40 of the industry’s top emerging leaders who have demonstrated success in their careers and made significant contributions to the communities they serve.

Joe was nominated for this accolade by our Board President Ron Snitker. Ron said “Joe’s outstanding leadership qualities, demonstrated through his contributions to the efficacy, growth and reputation of the organization, have been invaluable". Check out this Press Release for more details on this recognition.

Thank you for donating on Giving Tuesday. You can still donate to our Foundation here.

Because we had to cancel the Pride in Business Awards and TASTE, our two biggest fundraisers for our Foundation, your donation is now more important than ever! You can set up your one-time donation or become a sustaining donor.

Our Foundation funds scholarships and professional development initiatives for LGBT people starting or growing a business. We gave out more than $6,000 in scholarships in 2020. We are excited to announce that we have a matching donation for that amount for today only! Every dollar raised today up to $6,000 will be matched by a past-recipient of one of our scholars. We cannot thank them enough
