CEO Brief

A LOT has happened in the last week. Sorry the Weekly looked wonky last Friday. It was designed in the old system and sent in the new. We are still working on some things and we apologize for the bumps. I hope you are enjoying the new member portal and the new website. We are already seeing so much more engagement in just a week!

Joe Biden was declared the President-Elect on Saturday and we saw the stock market react on Monday with historic gains. The market has fallen from the start of the week due to the current President not conceding the race, and from the continued explosion of cases of the Coronavirus. This week4 of the 8 metrics Nashville uses to monitor COVID-19 moved into the red. The state passed 300,000 cases today, and other terrible numbers reported. The Mayor issued new recommendations to slow the spread, see more below. We are imploring everyone to wear a mask and recommit to everything you can do to help slow the spread.

We celebrated our Titanium member Music City Prep Clinic on Tuesday night, had our last official board meeting of the year on Wednesday, and then a fun/packed/incredible Brewing Up Business on Thursday. You can see more details about all of them below. We hope you will join us for all the events we have in store for the rest of the year.

Coronavirus Response

Metro Nashville is seeing a surge in COVID-19 cases across Davidson County. In order to combat the surge and keep our city safe please follow the below recommendations:

Please remember: Wear masks. Stay apart. Limit gatherings. Get a flu shot. We must continue to do all we can to get our numbers back down, especially as we head into the winter and the holiday season. We appreciate all you are doing to keep our community and city safe.

The Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce announced the launch of Intro Nashville, an opportunity to ensure employees become a more engaged and connected community member. During this program, participants will learn what makes the region unique and how we become the "It" city. To learn more, click here.

We ask all of our members to complete the Nashville Area Chamber’s annual Vital Signs survey. We have used the findings of this survey in the past to advocate on our policies, please fill it out!

Vital Signs looks at trends in the workforce, housing, transportation, and growth that impact the Middle Tennessee region. The Vital Sign Survey is one of the few surveys that give policymakers real-time information about what Nashville/Davidson County residents and residents throughout Middle Tennessee are experiencing, which is especially important as we weather COVID-19 and work toward recovery. Take the survey here.
