ADL Speaking Out in the South: Effective Allyship and Advocacy for the Transgender Community
Thursday, June 24, 2021 (12:00 PM - 1:00 PM) (CDT)
Description
We are partnering with the Anti-Defamation League Southeast to bring you a roundtable discussion on allyship and advocacy for the transgender community. Our CEO will moderate a panel of trans advocates and activists from around the South, where they will share their personal stories, why we need activism and advocacy for the trans community, discuss action items for trans allies and ways to get involved, and answer a few questions from the audience.
Other partnering organizations are Georgia Equality and Sojourn. Intersectionality will be at the heart of this conversation and we look forward to a program dedicated and focused on trans issues.
Joe Woolley (panel moderator) – CEO, Nashville LGBT Chamber
M. Greg Green - Founder, Transgender Awareness Alliance
Chanel Haley - Gender Policy Manager, Georgia Equality
Drew Mindell - Sex Ed Queeries Coordinator, SOJOURN
Jen Slipakoff - Steering Committee Co-Chair, Human Rights Campaign and former PFLAG Atlanta co-president
