J.D. Events and Festivals Changes Name

Events Member News Release

JD Events & Festivals has undergone a significant transformation since I started the original festivals and events company. We have grown substantially, hiring an insanely talented and hard-working staff, and creating and managing a total of 18 unique, premium festivals in Nashville and Louisville.

Now the time has come to update the company name and brand to reflect our growth and our fully-developed mission. Effective immediately, we are changing our name from JD Events & Festivals to Good Neighbor Festivals.

Why this name? Why now?

As the team and I have been producing new and growing festivals - we’ve really been creating opportunities for people to come together and make new friends and memories in the communities where they live and work.  As Nashville has rapidly been changing we feel strongly in the work we do to create communities and enhance neighborhoods.

We realized that our old name no longer articulated our larger mission. It didn’t express the passion that drives our team to work long hours and nights and weekends regardless of record-breaking heat in the summer or rainy winter days.

At Good Neighbor Festivals, we don’t just produce and manage great festivals, we create meaningful experiences that build communities by bringing people together around shared interests.

We believe that community is more than just where you live and work. It’s how you live and work.

We don’t just see ourselves as “events and festivals” people. We serve as neighborhood and community partners, working with local organizations to build meaningful events that will become a part of the region’s larger story year after year. We create welcoming spaces where new friendships are forged and lifelong memories made. And after each successful event, we take extra care to ensure that we leave each neighborhood clean and, in many ways, better than we found it.

We see ourselves as good neighbors who are building communities in meaningful ways - from economic growth to civic pride to the new friendships made.

What else is changing?

Nothing! I still own the company and have the support of the same rockstar team as before: Brittany Carlberg, Vendors+Logistic; Sean Pritchard, Entertainment+Production and Kristyn Corder, Web+Social+Press.  We will be introducing you to some new faces soon.

We are thankful to have made our home here in Nashville, and we are honored to have your continued support as we work to produce more premier festivals in the region. We’ll be inviting you over for something fun soon. That’s the Good Neighbor way.

Sincerely,

Jack Davis
