Just Conversations: How to be an Antiracist
Over the past six months, we have heard from friends and colleagues a desire to participate in community-wide conversations about race. Many people are looking for ways to enter into the conversation, deepen their understanding about racial inequality, and to find ways to participate in change and healing.
In response to these calls, the Metro Human Relations Commission is proud to announce - Just Conversations: Nashville Reads "How to be an Antiracist." The project launches on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day (Jan. 18th) at www.JustConversations.org
You're invited to read the book and discuss the issues it raises.
The project includes filmed panel discussions for each chapter featuring people and organizations from across Nashville representing various communities and perspectives. Study guides and other resources allowing readers to dig deeper and providing groups the foundation to have thoughtful discussions are also available on the website. The first 2 episodes in the 19 episode series will premiere at 4:00 PM on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. New episodes will premier every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 4:00 PM until Feb. 26th.
