May is Mental Health Awareness Month
May is Mental Health Awareness Month — an initiative that amplifies fighting the stigma, providing support, educating communities and advocating for policies surrounding mental illness.
This year, the National Alliance on Mental Illness’s message is “You Are Not Alone.” With 1 in 5 adults in the U.S. experiencing mental illness, it’s vital to know that you aren’t alone and it’s okay to not be okay. We have been talking to you about this all year, and we will continue to do so.
Today, we are sharing local resources for mental health services + support for those who struggle with or know someone experiencing mental illness.
