The Nashville LGBT Chamber Announces New Program: Take PRIDE in the Arts

The Nashville LGBT Chamber CEO, Lisa Howe, announced a new program today called Take PRIDE in the Arts. She describes it as an additional networking event that reflects the growth of the organization. “We are accustomed to the Frist, Nashville Ballet, and Nashville Opera hosting some of our networking events. We have added 75 members in eight months, and we have a long list of members who would like to host a Brewing up Business, which there are only 11 each year. Allowing our members who are Arts organizations to host a networking event without occupying a Brewing up Business is going to be mutually beneficial for the hosts and guests.” 

One of the reasons non-profit arts organizations join the LGBT Chamber is to help sell tickets and promote performances. Giving members the opportunity to watch a rehearsal and providing discount codes to Chamber members has been successful in the past. Many LGBT Chamber members enjoy the perks and take advantage of those opportunities. Adding Take PRIDE in the Arts not only gives the Chamber the opportunity to continue offering these member benefits, but it gives both the host and the Chamber a chance to grow and improve the program.

The first Take PRIDE in the Arts event will be hosted by the Nashville Opera on September 21st at the Noah Liff Opera Center. Guests will enjoy 30-40 minutes of networking, food and beverages, and will get a first hand account of the upcoming performance from CEO and Artistic Director, John Hoomes. Then, guests are welcome to watch rehearsal for Tosca.

The next Take PRIDE in the Arts event is scheduled in February 2018 with the Nashville Ballet. We are anticipating members getting to watch a rehearsal for Light / The Holocaust and Humanity Project. The LGBT Chamber is working with other members to continue scheduling and building this program and its benefits. The Chamber anticipates possible panel discussions, meet & greets, ticket discounts, receptions, and after-parties. The LGBT Chamber will involve a variety of members to round out the program.
